I have spent many years in southern Ireland and on the British west coasts painting sea and skyscapes. Trying to capturing the restless energy of the sea and the winds, I sold many paintings (of many sizes) of my interpretations of the wonderful views to people who shared my love of the natural. Sometimes working en plein air as in the photo above, but mainly back in the studio after a couple of weeks of wet and windy walking.
Below is a close up of some of the paintwork and also a small 6 inch painting I did of an Irish friend’s old Killibegs fishing boat – “The Kenure”.
